One advantage I have is that I'm a department of one, so I'm basically free to operate how I want and remain insulated from the rest of the design team. 95% of my software can run on a PC platform, but having the ability to remote in and work from home or just down the hall sounds kind of cool too.I switched over to a Mac platform almost 4 years ago, and while I like OS X, I really like the power and upgradability of the HP workstations. For the same money I can get a really capable HP Z1 G3 All-in-one or a Z400 series desktop machine.I saw a blurb somewhere mentioning HP's RGS now being available for Macs, and that got me wondering if it works as well as claimed. I'm hesitant to spend money on a new maxed out iMac (even after the update announcement later this month) because I know its going to run close to $4k.
